Notice to all Shrewsbury Recreation Participants

The Recreation Committee has managed to accommodate all late registrations, with few exceptions, to our clinic and league sports programs.  However, as late registrations impact team rosters (often negatively by reaching roster capacity), shirt orders, and number of teams committed to the leagues, the Recreation Committee is creating a year-round registration schedule with fixed deadlines as a way to simplify the process for families and assist the Recreation Committee efforts in making each sports program enjoyable for all of the children. This new schedule is as follows and will be effective starting with 2008 Spring Softball/Baseball Season:

  • Summer/Fall (Summer Camp/Soccer/Field Hockey) - June 15
  • Winter Flag Football - October 12
  • Winter League Basketball - October 25
  • Winter Clinic Basketball - November 10
  • Spring (Baseball/Softball) - January 15

We will continue to send email reminders to everyone registered on Community Pass, do backpack inserts for children at Shrewsbury Borough School, and post registration dates on the firehouse marquee.  Families that do not have children in Shrewsbury Borough School are encouraged to register at Community Pass:  https://register.communitypass.net/shrewsbury

If a registration deadline is missed, we will make every attempt to accommodate your child, within the team roster limits previously established.  If we are able to place your child on a team, a late fee of $100 per child will be applied.  The late fee will not apply to Kindergarten through second grade (clinic programs) or the summer camp program.  The Recreation Committee believes that a fixed calendar will greatly assist parents with registration, allow the Recreation Committee to better manage the recreation programs, and to ensure the children have every opportunity to participate.
