The Land Use Clerk advises property owners, developers and other interested persons in the practices and procedures of the Land Use Board.  Certification and experience is preferred.  Applicants without certification will be considered, provided the candidate successfully obtains certification within one year of hire. 

The Land Use Clerk will maintain the records of the Board, including the calendar, agendas, resolutions, approvals/denials, minutes and legal publications.  In addition, the Land Use Clerk renders assistance to appellants or applicants desiring to submit appeals or applications for development and informs them of all submission requirements as well as determines the completeness of all applications for development and gives all notices or certifications pertaining thereto as required by law. 

The position will also require after-hours meetings at least once per month.  The Administrative Assistant portion of the position requires the applicant to be able to perform administrative duties including, but not limited to phone support, assisting residents. production of meeting minutes and mailing correspondence.

Working knowledge of Spatial Data Logic is a plus.

The Shrewsbury Borough Department of Public Works will be accepting applications for the position of Laborer.  It is preferred that applicants hold a Class B CDL with airbrake endorsement or higher or be able to obtain one in the first 6 months.  Salary for the first six-month probabtion period is $37,885 and upon successful completion of probation, it moves to $40,916.  Preferred skill sets include, but are not limited to, building maintenance, which consists of light painting, plumbing, electrical and carpentry. 

Experience with the use of heavy equipment and dump trucks are also preferred, but not required. All new hires will be required to submit to a background check, drug screening and physical prior to appointment.  Applicants may be required to lift to 50 pounds, stand for long periods of time and work nights during storm emergencies.
