The Two Rivers Regional Domestic Violence Response Team

The Two Rivers Regional Domestic Violence Response Team was created in 2002. This team, consisting of volunteers from many of the Two Rivers communities, provides advocacy and assistance to victims of Domestic Violence. The volunteers receive training from 180, Turning Lives Around, (http://www.180nj.org/) in threat assessment, shelter care, and understanding the laws and the victim’s rights. The training is funded through grants given to communities by the NJ Attorney General’s Office. The participating communities are Fair Haven, Little Silver, Red Bank, Rumson, Sea Bright and Shrewsbury.

Domestic Violence Crisis Intervention Teams embody the partnership among police agencies, domestic violence core service programs and the community. Victims of domestic violence will be given immediate support at the moment of crisis and receive all available information regarding the law, safety options and available resources.

The goals of the team, according to the NJ Coalition for Battered Women, are:

If you or someone you know is a victim of Domestic Violence, please get help. Domestic Violence is a problem that affects all communities, all races, all religions, and is often accompanied by child abuse. Victims can respond to member Police Departments and ask to speak with an advocate. Victims can also contact 180 at 732-264-4111 or use one of the following links below for assistance. Intervention and counseling for the victim and the abuser make a difference. The following are links for information regarding Domestic Violence.
